American Tire Distributors To Expand Service Across Texas And Louisiana
CHARLOTTE, N.C. (Dec. 7, 2007) - American Tire Distributors, Inc. announced today that they have completed the acquisition of Homann Tire Wholesale ("Homann Tire"). This will expand American Tire Distributors' service across the state of Texas. This acquisition will also provide American Tire Distributors with its first distribution center in the state of Louisiana.Homann Tire operated five wholesale distribution centers and two retail stores. American Tire Distributors' purchase does not include the retail stores. The five distribution center locations include San Antonio, Killeen, Corpus Christi and Houston in Texas and Lafayette in Louisiana. The Homann Tire distribution operation serviced over 1,600 customers in Texas and Louisiana.

Homann Tire was founded by Ray Homann in 1974 as a single retail store in San Antonio, Texas. Ray's son, Ken Homann, took ownership of the business in 1991. Ken grew the company's retail business and opened its first wholesale distribution center in 1997. Since that time, the Homann Tire distribution operation expanded to the existing five locations.
